Moving to New York City earlier this year was like diving into the deep end of a very fast, very crowded pool. Between client calls, valuation deadlines, and staying on top of sector shifts, it’s easy to let days blur. I’ve learned to combat that by building structure into my week: blocking time for high-focus work, scheduling workouts like non-negotiable meetings, and leaving space to explore the city.
What surprised me is how much the energy of NYC actually fuels me. I used to think I needed mountains and wide-open spaces to recharge (still true to an extent), but there’s something about walking through a buzzing street at 8 p.m. on a Tuesday that makes me feel awake in a different way. It’s reminding me that adaptability isn’t just a skill for the office — it’s essential to enjoying life wherever you land.
